The site of the reinforced fill slope is
located at NENT Landfill. A 35m-high
and 340m length embankment bridging two hilltops is constructed
to retain future waste.
It is designed for stability on both
west and east side as a standing
embankment and eventually overall
stability when waste will be deposit
against the west face.
Construction takes the form of wrap
around layers of geogrids extending
from east face to west face with CDV
fill.
The west face is lined with a green
geomembrane for aesthetic purpose
prior to receiving waste.
A fire
resistance facing at the eastern face
is necessary for reason it will be
permanently exposed.
The height of the embankment varies
from 6m to 35m and the slope angle is
about 68 degree from horizontal.
The
whole embankment takes the form
of a curvature with large variation on
base width from 20m to as lengthy
as 56m, at the crest it becomes 6m
the narrowest.
On the east face, the
formation level is about 7m below that
of the west face and the overall height
becomes 42m maximum. |
