Geosynthetics for Civil and Environmental Engineering

The position, based in the sales department and focused on foreign markets, will involve:

• Develop and consolidate the customer portfolio in assigned international markets, with a particular focus on Europe and Arab countries;
• Promote business solutions to specialized distributors and end customers such as general contractors, public entities, and waterproofing companies;
• Contribute to the definition and implementation of the export strategy, in collaboration with management;
• Monitor market trends, competitors, and the specific needs of individual countries;
• Participate in trade fairs and plan regular visits to foreign customers;
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and effective service;
• Prepare commercial offers and independently manage negotiations until the contract is finalized.

We are looking for someone with technical training and at least 5 years of experience in international sales in the geosynthetics sector. Excellent knowledge of English and Spanish is required; knowledge of French is a plus.

The profile is completed by strong commercial skills, excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, operational autonomy, a results-oriented approach, and willingness to travel abroad frequently.

Residence within a reasonable distance from the company headquarters is a preferred requirement.

Purpose of the role

The Technical Product Engineer, reporting to the Technical Director, is responsible for the technical development and validation of products, ensuring their regulatory compliance, performance, and alignment with customer needs. The role involves laboratory work, technical design, document management, and liaising with regulatory bodies and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Testing and Validation
• Prepare, plan, and conduct (either independently or with technicians) tests in the in-house laboratory.
• Conduct tests of the following nature:
  • Hydraulics (Hydraulic flow rate)
  • Mechanical Properties (Tensile Strength, Compressive Strength, Peel Strength)
  • Performance (Interface with other products, Cut test)
  • Creep
• Analyze and interpret test results; validate and review them with the Technical-Sales and R&D departments
• Prepare technical reports and validation documentation.
• Preparation of technical documentation
• Ongoing review and updating of technical data sheets.
• Drafting and updating of bid specifications.
• Development of customized technical data sheets (tailored to specific needs) based on the customer’s requirements, following consultation with the technical department and, if necessary, with the R&D department.
• Ensure consistency between technical documentation, the actual product, and regulatory requirements.
• Product Development and Optimization
• Define and develop the best technical solution to meet the customer's needs.
• Work with R&D, manufacturing, and sales teams on product commercialization
• Continuous improvement in technical and quality performance.
• Comparative analysis against market benchmarks and relevant regulations.
• Regulatory Compliance and Certifications
• Manage and maintain procedures for:
  • CE Marking
  • DVT
  • Abortion
• Coordination with notified bodies and certification bodies.
• Verification of compliance with UNI, CEN, and ISO standards.
• Active participation in UNI, CEN, and ISO technical committees, representing the company.
• Technical Complaint Management
  • Analyze technical complaints and non-conformities.
  • Identify root causes and propose corrective actions
  • Coordinate any verification tests.
  • Communicate clearly and in a structured manner with the customer.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in this role at geosynthetic manufacturing companies
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Civil, Industrial, or equivalent).
• Experience in a testing laboratory and technical testing.
• Knowledge of EC, UNI, CEN, and ISO standards.
