Soil protection works are becoming increasingly widespread in order to ensure people's safety and the functionality of structures; rockfall barriers are among the most important and reinforced earth rockfall barriers are increasingly being used. Tenax has been at the forefront of research and development for this type of application for many years: thanks to full-scale tests in collaboration with the University of Trento, the Tenax RIVEL system has been tested with impact energies of up to 7,000 kJ. Reinforced earth rockfall barriers offer effective protection even in the event of repeated impacts along the same line, require little maintenance, are not subject to deterioration or decay, and have a negligible environmental impact.

Noise barriers
The growing attention to acoustic problems generated by vehicular traffic or manufacturing activities has led to the development of noise reduction systems such as noise barriers, which have a significant visual impact and often do not blend in with the surrounding landscape. The solution is to build reinforced earth noise barriers: the Tenax RIVEL system is certified by the University of Bologna and, thanks to the greening of the façade, has a reduced visual impact and is perceived as a natural element of the landscape.
