High Drainage Tenax HD geocomposites are designed to ensure high flow rates and tensile strength. They are used in landfill capping to replace traditional granular materials such as sand and gravel, and allow both atmospheric precipitation and biogas to drain away.
Installation is much faster than laying a layer of drainage soil: Tenax HD is supplied in easily transportable and unrollable rolls, thus reducing transport and installation costs.
The three-dimensional box-net structure in polypropylene (PP), industrially laminated to one or two separation and filtration geotextiles, makes the product non-deformable; the high-profile quadrangular meshes guarantee the disposal of hydraulic flows greater than 3.00 l/s*m (pressure 100 kPa, gradient i=1), thus providing HD geocomposites with superior performance compared to normal drainage products.
The draining core of Tenax HD can be laminated underneath with a lightweight waterproof geomembrane (Tenax HDcu) to supplement the underlying waterproofing: in the case of a compacted clay or bentonite geocomposite barrier, it helps to maintain the correct level of humidity and preserve the characteristics of the materials over time.
