The Multimat R reinforced three-dimensional geomat is used to protect very long, steep slopes from erosion or to cap landfills as a bonding agent between the topsoil and the lower drainage layer.
It has the same structure as the Multimat geomat and is made with two outer layers of flat polypropylene (PP) geogrids and a central pleated layer to give the product consistency and thickness. A polyester (PET) geogrid is also inserted to increase tensile strength up to 300 kN/m.
The layers are industrially sewn together with high-strength thread to ensure compactness. The flexibility of the product allows it to follow the contours of the ground and be laid even in the presence of curves or changes in slope.
Tenax Multimat R is available in rolls up to 4.40 m wide for applications such as landfills, in order to speed up installation, or in 2.20 m widths for smaller jobs.

TENAX MULTIMAT R
A typical problem with landfills is represented by very long slopes with a significant layer of soil covering; the latter rests on the waterproofing/drainage package (barrier system) and tends to slide downwards due to reduced friction at the soil-barrier system interface.
To increase friction, an element must be provided that allows the soil to "cling" to the underlying package and thus prevent it from sliding due to its own weight.
Multimat R reinforced three-dimensional geomats increase friction at the interface, allowing significant thicknesses of soil to be laid even on very steep slopes; the reinforcement geogrid inside the geomat provides additional strength to the product, thus reducing longitudinal deformations induced by the soil load.
