1. Prepare the
surface of installation area by removing stones, roots, etc., filling
any voids in order to obtain a smooth and compact laying surface.
2. Excavate the top and bottom anchor trenches
(if required by the engineer). Place TENAX MULTIMAT in the upper
trench and fix with "U" (F
= 8 mm) shaped pins (length of pins is normally 150-300 mm depending
on consistency of the sub-grade soil).
3. Unroll TENAX MULTIMAT downward and fill the
anchorage trenches with topsoil; for base trenches, in case of channels,
it is possible to use concrete or stones.
4. Cut the geomat at desired length before anchoring
in the lower trench (use scissors or cutter). Overlapping between
adjacent rolls shall be about 100 mm, while fixing between adjacent
rolls should occur every 1.50 m; overlapping has to be done taking
into account (if any) the water flow direction. Rolls may be butt
jointed on shallow slope.
5. Fix with "U" shaped pins (F
= 8 mm) at every 1.50 m, to ensure a good contact between soil and
geomat. Place these pins in the middle of the transversal roll direction
and mid-height between lateral pins.
6. Cover completely the geomat with topsoil: fill
or brush into the TENAX MULTIMAT, approximately 20 mm of topsoil;
spread the recommended grass seeds at a rate of approximately 50gm
per sqm.
Alternatively we recommend mixing the topsoil with the seeds prior
to filling the TENAX MULTIMAT. On steep slopes perhaps the best
method for carrying out seeding over TENAX MULTIMAT is by hydro-seeding
the filled geomat. Seeding or hydro-seeding techniques have to be
chosen taking into account the climate, sun exposure, the desired
cover grade, the environmental aspects of the project, the required
time for grass growth. |
