Installation procedures of TENAX
MDP geocomposites for civil engineering applications
TENAX MDP geocomposite can be used either on steep slopes, walls
and for horizontal applications. Care shall be taken to keep the
geocomposite clean and free from debris prior to installation.
VERTICAL APPLICATIONS - CONCRETE WALLS
TENAX geocomposite shall be cut (using utility knife or scissors)
at the required length from footing to top of the wall allowing
enough length to wrap the pipe collector at the bottom of the
wall. The TENAX MDP 1200 shall be installed with the geomembrane
side against the primary waterproofing liner. TENAX geocomposite
may be secured to the top of the wall by driving nails through
protective washers or wood stripes into the wall, or by gluing
it with construction or mastic glue. So it shall be unrolled down
the wall with care to avoid any wrinkles.
At the bottom the geonet shall be connected directly with the
pipe and the pipe shall be covered with the geotextile.
Adjacent rolls shall be but jointed and the geotextile and geomembrane lateral edges shall be overlapped 100 mm.
If required, joints
between adjacent roll can be waterproofed through the use of a butyl
rubber tape with adhesive on both sides.
HORIZONTAL APPLICATION
In case of installation directly on the soil then the surface shall
be previously prepared removing stones, roots, etc., filling any
voids in order to obtain a smooth laying surface. Adjacent panels
shall be placed so that the cores are butted together and the geotextile
is overlapped as described previously. A minimum gradient of 3%
shall be reached in order to provide positive drainage.
Typical applications are: roof garden, cast concrete slab drainage,
cast concrete slab waterproofing.
