Crops protection

Modern agro-technical research has directed considerable attention to crop protection. Preventive covering of cultivations with netting prevents hail from hitting and damaging first shoots and then the fruit itself ; in modern agriculture, it is ever more critical and profitable to preserve and ensure the integrity of the crop. The hail nets must be structurally non-deformable, resistant to stretching and tear while guaranteeing optimal airflow and light permeation to allow crops to flourish. In excessively bright conditions, green colouring provides shading that promotes greater fruit yield and protects against scorching. Nets must be chosen carefully by considering all the properties of the textile in guaranteeing a combination of protection, ease-of-use and durability. TENAX hail protection nets act actively to protect crops from adverse weather conditions such as hail, thermal fluctuations and strong wind.

TENAX Bird Control Nets are used in the fruit and vegetable growing sector to protect fruit and vegetables against attacks of birds and fruit-eating bats. The protection net is put directly on trees or espaliers when growing peaches, pears, apples, grapes or on side ventilation windows of tunnels when growing berries, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries.
TENAX Bird Control Nets are available in different mesh sizes and roll height to fit any application need. They are green to resist a long UV ray exposure.
TENAX Bird Control Nets are also used in aquaculture to protect fi sheries from attacks of predatory birds. Seagulls, pelicans, herons and cormorants have a larger wingspan than fruit-eating birds. Therefore, a protection net with a larger mesh and stronger threads is needed. They are installed directly on growing ponds
and are supported by a system of ropes.
TENAX Bird Control Nets are the most effective and long-lasting solution to prevent species of urban birds from entering buildings and especially attics, thus preventing them from nesting.
They are very useful in the countryside for protecting stalls and livestock farms.

The shading nets, by filtering the light, provide uniform shading and optimise crop yield.
